3/16 Discovery Update from Pastor Dan

3/12 Statement on COVID-19

Discovery Church Family,

We wanted to let you know the steps we are taking as a church in light of COVID-19.

As a gathering place for many, the health and wellbeing of those who call Discovery Church home is our highest priority. Our team is monitoring guidance and updates daily from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). Out of an abundance of caution, we are taking several proactive steps that we would like to share with you:

Facility Cleaning & Sanitization

In addition to our regular cleaning schedule, we have increased the number of times surfaces are wiped down and sanitized throughout the week. This includes places of heavy contact such as door handles, kids classrooms, giving buckets and bathrooms. Hand sanitizer stations can be found on each level.

Change in Greeting

Discovery has always been known as a warm, embracing church (literally). However, in light of the current situation, feel free to greet others in a contact free way if desired. Be creative…it’s harder than it sounds!

If Not Feeling Well, Watch Online

We cannot stress this enough! If you or a member of your family (children especially) are feeling ill, please feel free to watch weekend services in the comfort of your own living room. Discovery streams the 9 am service on YouTube and the 10:30 am service on Facebook Live. Find us on Facebook at Discovery Church Elgin.

This is a time for concern, but not a time for panic. Please know we are taking every precaution to ensure the wellbeing of you and your family every time you walk through the doors.
